Federal Ombudsman, NADRA to jointly resolve public complaints

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2026) Director General Multan Region NADRA, Naz Shoaib and In-charge of the Federal Ombudsman Regional Office Multan and Coordinator South Punjab Dr. Muhammad Zahid have agreed to strengthen institutional coordination and take joint measures for the prompt resolution of public complaints.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between the two officials at the Federal Ombudsman Regional Office here, where they discussed ways to improve public service delivery, address administrative issues faced by NADRA, ensure effective redressal of complaints and further enhance cooperation between the two institutions.

It was decided that an authorized NADRA representative would attend future open courts organized by the Federal Ombudsman to review citizens' complaints on the spot and facilitate their immediate resolution. The initiative was expected to save citizens from repeated visits to government offices and help ensure timely disposal of their grievances.

The NADRA Director General said the organization was taking effective measures to promote modern technology and had introduced the advanced IRIS scanning facility across the country to make the identity verification process faster, safer and more accurate.

She further said around 700 complaints against NADRA from South Punjab had been received by the Federal Ombudsman concerning issues including the issuance of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), biometric registration, succession certificates and B-Forms. She said 100 percent implementation had been completed on the recommendations issued in these cases, providing timely relief to the affected citizens and helping strengthen public trust in the institution.

Dr. Muhammad Zahid said the Primary objective of the Federal Ombudsman was to provide citizens with swift, transparent and free-of-cost redressal of complaints against government institutions. He appreciated NADRA's prompt implementation of the Federal Ombudsman's recommendations and said closer cooperation between the two institutions would help provide better and faster services to the public.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthening mutual cooperation and continuing joint efforts for the speedy resolution of public grievances, promotion of transparent governance and provision of maximum relief and citizen-friendly services.
