ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui celebrated the Federal Directorate of Education’s historic achievement after FDE clinched the “Overall Best Directorate” trophies across all major categories in the Federal board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Inter-Directorate and Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournaments for the 2025-26 session.

The minister attended a grand ceremony held at Islamabad Model College for Girls F-7/4 as chief guest to honor the winning student-athletes and encourage sports activities in educational institutions.

Upon arrival, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui visited different sports venues and observed students participating in volleyball, football and table tennis competitions. In a lively moment during the visit, the minister accepted a student’s invitation to play a brief table tennis match, drawing applause and cheers from students and faculty members.

The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by the Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education, who praised the dedication of coaches, physical education instructors and students for securing the prestigious titles.

The Federal Minister, accompanied by the FBISE Chairman, distributed championship trophies and awards among the winning teams and athletes.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui appreciated the outstanding performance of students and emphasized that sports play a vital role in promoting discipline, teamwork and character-building among youth.
