FDA to provide world-class indoor sports facilities: DG Asif Chaudhry

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said on Friday that the Authority was committed to providing modern, high-quality and world-class indoor sports facilities for sports enthusiasts.

In this regard, he said that the Sports Complex FDA City Sports Complex had become an exemplary and landmark project for promoting healthy and positive activities, where sports lovers have access to international-standard indoor sports facilities.

Keeping in view the growing public interest and the continuous increase in membership, comprehensive master planning has also been undertaken for the further expansion and improvement of the Sports Complex, he added.

He expressed these views during interviews conducted for prospective membership candidates.

On the occasion, Additional Commissioner Coordination Syed Murtaza Tanveer, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Mudassar Mumtaz, Divisional Sports Officer Nadeem Qaiser, President of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Farooq Yousaf Sheikh and other members of the management committee were also present.

DG FDA said that the Sports Complex is not only an excellent center for sports and recreational activities but is also playing an important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle for citizens and families.

That’s why its membership is increasing day by day, he added.

He said that the purpose of conducting interviews for candidates is to maintain high membership standards, discipline and the prestige of the institution so that all members can enjoy quality time in a family-friendly environment.

DG FDA announced the approval of membership for all 29 candidates who appeared for interviews, considering their qualifications, personalities, and interest in healthy activities.

He urged the new members to strictly follow the rules, regulations, and discipline of the Sports Complex to ensure a positive environment, mutual respect, and a pleasant atmosphere.

He further said that members should also provide constructive suggestions for further improvement in the administrative and developmental affairs of the Sports Complex so that its growth and management standards can be enhanced further.

On this occasion, the candidates thanked Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen, DG FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhary and other concerned officers, expressing their commitment to playing a full role in strengthening the prestige, development, and positive image of the Sports Complex as members.
