ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) The Federal Constitutional Court (FCCP) has dismissed the appeal filed by former Chief Executive Officer of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Company, Javed Iqbal, against his removal from office, and upheld the decision of the Peshawar High Court.

The case was heard on Monday by a two-member bench of the Federal Constitutional Court, headed by Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi and comprising Justice Rozi Khan Barech.

During the hearing, counsel for Javed Iqbal argued that his client had been removed without lawful justification, stating that the government could not act arbitrarily by removing someone without reason.

The counsel further contended that Javed Iqbal had been reappointed as CEO on the basis of his performance.

Justice Rozi Khan Barech observed that the reappointment had also been made adding that a competitive process was necessary for such appointments.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the Court dismissed the appeal and ordered that the judgment of the Peshawar High Court be maintained.
