The court found Farrukh Khokhar, Amir Hamza and Haidar Ali guilty of murder and other related offences

RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 14th, 2026) An Additional District and Sessions Court on Tuesday sentenced three men, including Farrukh Khokhar, to life imprisonment after convicting them in the high-profile murder case of transport union leader Majid Satti.

The court found Farrukh Khokhar, Amir Hamza and Haidar Ali guilty of murder and other related offences. Each convict was handed a life sentence and ordered to pay Rs1 million in compensation. Another accused, Waseem, was acquitted after the court extended the benefit of doubt.

Following the verdict, police took Farrukh Khokhar into custody from the courtroom, as he had been out on bail during the trial. The remaining two convicts, who were produced from prison for the hearing, were returned to jail to serve their sentences.

The case stems from the killing of Majid Satti, a well-known transport union leader and political activist, who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in August 2022 within the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station.

Investigators had alleged that Farrukh Khokhar and his associates planned and carried out the murder due to personal enmity. The prosecution presented evidence during the trial, leading to the convictions announced by the court on Tuesday.

Police described the verdict as the result of a thorough investigation and successful prosecution, saying the convictions marked an important step in delivering justice in one of the city’s high-profile murder cases.
