Farm Service Center Board stresses effective implementation

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Secretary Agriculture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, on Wednesday chaired first meeting of Farm Service Center Board emphasizing setting of clear targets and effective implementation.

The meeting was also attended by board members including Director General Agriculture Extension Dr. Naveed, Director Livestock Extension Dr. Shaukat, divisional presidents of Farm Service Centers and relevant officials of agriculture department.

The meeting conducted a detailed review of performance of Farm Service Centers, inter-departmental coordination and various administrative matters. Addressing the participants, Secretary Agriculture directed that coordination committees be established at district level and regular meetings be held to monitor activities of Farm Service Centers and ensure timely resolution of issues. He also directed concerned officials to make activities of Farm Service Centers more effective and better coordinated.

The meeting emphasized setting clear targets for Farm Service Centers and ensuring their effective implementation. It was also agreed to further strengthen coordination among various departments.

Matters relating to veterinary services and livestock were also reviewed during session. Instructions were issued to enhance coordination with livestock department at district level in order to provide better facilities and services to farmers and livestock owners.

The participants also held detailed discussions on challenges being faced by service centers and decided that such issues would be taken up in district coordination meetings to formulate an effective strategy for their resolution. It was further decided that machinery from one district could be utilized in another district whenever required.
