"Family with disabilities" rescued after landslide in Murree

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) The district administration in Murree has rescued a family with disabilities trapped in a landslide in Jhika Gali, while continuing relief and road restoration operations across the area.

The rescue was carried out on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi.

Teams promptly reached the site and shifted the affected family to safety, adding that the family was being moved to Rawalpindi at their request.

Authorities said relief activities were continuing at a pace, with machinery and staff deployed in various areas to restore roads and ensure smooth traffic flow. Residents expressed satisfaction with the administration’s response and were cooperating with ongoing efforts.

The district administration also issued an advisory urging tourists and residents to take current weather conditions into account and avoid unnecessary travel to prevent any untoward incidents.
