Fake currency notes seized, one held

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) City Police have arrested a man for possessing counterfeit Currency and recovered fake notes worth Rs100,000 during a crackdown.

According to police, the arrest was made during a checkpoint operation when officers stopped and searched a suspicious individual. Upon search, counterfeit currency notes were recovered from his possession.

The suspect, currently in custody, revealed during initial investigation that he had brought the fake currency from Peshawar and intended to use it for shopping in Rawalpindi markets.

Police have registered a case against the accused and taken the recovered fake currency into custody. SP Rawal, Saad Arshad commended police team for swift and professional action and stated that those involved in fraud and deceiving citizens through counterfeit means will be dealt with strictly and cannot escape the law.
