Faisalabadi's celebrate Eid with zeal, throng parks and recreational spots

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Mar, 2026) The people of Faisalabad celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor as thousands of citizens, after offering Eid prayers,thronged gardens, parks and recreational spots across the city to enjoy the festive occasion with their families and friends.

A large number of families particularly youth and children were seen heading towards major public parks and entertainment venues.

The prominent recreational spots including D-Ground, Jinnah Bagh, Kaleem Shaheed Park, Gatwala Wildlife Park and Shahbaz Sharif Park witnessed an extraordinary rush, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere throughout the day.

Similarly,popular amusement centers such as Sindbad and Fun Dunya remained packed with visitors as the children and families were seen enjoying rides, games and various entertainment activities.

The festive environment, colorful decorations and joyful crowds added to the charm of the occasion, making it a memorable day for the visitors.

The children appeared to be the most excited segment of the society as they celebrated Eid with great zeal.

Many of them spent their “Eidi”.

The traditional cash gifts received from elders on purchasing sweets, toys and other items from the stalls set up outside parks and recreational venues.

The vendors also did brisk business as the demand for confectionery, balloons and play items surged on the occasion.

The city’s major attractions including Bagh-e-Jinnah,D-Ground and Gatwala Park became centers of activity where children were seen playing cricket, enjoying swings and participating in various outdoor games.

The families spread mats on grass, shared meals and spent quality time together, reflecting the true spirit of Eid as a festival of joy and togetherness.

Despite comparatively thin traffic on city roads, the transport issues were reported in several areas as public transport remained limited and some rickshaw drivers were charging higher fares.

However, this did not deter the festive spirit of the citizens as the people managed to reach their favorite destinations through various means.

Talking to APP, an elderly citizen, Ghulam Habib, who visited D-Ground along with his family, said that Eid was a time of happiness and togetherness. “We are enjoying a lot and planning to take meal here to make the day even more special”, he added.

Another group of visitors including Anas, Rashid and a young girl Naeema expressed their excitement while visiting Sindbad, saying that the place offered a unique and joyful experience during Eid days.

“There is a different kind of feeling here on Eid and we are enjoying every moment”, they remarked.

A young girl, Kulsoom, while enjoying rides at Fun Dunya, said that she was extremely happy to spend the day at the amusement park.

“I insisted my father to bring us here and I am really enjoying the swings and rides”, she said with a smile.

The festive celebrations continued till late in the evening as families kept visiting parks and entertainment venues, making the most of the Eid holidays.

The overall environment in Faisalabad reflected harmony, joy and communal spirit, highlighting the cultural significance of Eid-ul-Fitr as a festival that brings people together.
