FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) President Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (EXIM Bank) Shahbaz Hussain Syed has announced that EXIM Bank branch would be established soon in Faisalabad and at least 50 percent of the bank’s recruitment would comprise of experienced young professionals.
Addressing a function at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), he said that EXIM bank was established in 2022 and granted full autonomy in the following year.
He explained that EXIM Bank operates under a distinct mechanism compared to commercial banks by focusing specifically on facilitating exports particularly by improving small exporters’ access to capital.
He said that the bank’s core objectives include enhancing and diversifying exports, encouraging industries producing import substitutes, providing trade credit insurance to exporters, meeting financial requirements through the Export Facilitation Scheme and Long-Term Finance Facility, and extending financial support for green exports.
He said that Faisalabad was no longer solely a textile hub, as other industries were also expanding rapidly in the region.
Highlighting employment opportunities, he said that since the bank was a relatively new institution, 50 percent of its jobs would be allocated to youth.
He urged the young entrepreneurs to benefit from EXIM Bank’s schemes to initiate export-oriented businesses.
Earlier, FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh introduced Faisalabad and the chamber, stating that FCCI is an elected representative body of the business community which is not only resolving members’ issues but also contributing to development of the city.
He said that during the recent floods, Rs.50 million in relief assistance was provided through FCCI platform while renowned industrialist Mian Muhammad Adrees spent Rs.30 million on the renovation of the VIP lounge at the historic Faisalabad Railway Station.
