ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti on Thursday said the performance of the Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) during 2025 reflects the growing public trust in the institution.
Expressing his views during a visit to DRC Abbottabad, he said DRC has become a ray of hope for people for free and timely justice.
During the visit the DIG also reviewed the ongoing construction work of the council building and directed the concerned officials to complete the project at the earliest.
Chairman DRC, Lieutenant General (R) Ayaz Saleem Rana, welcomed the DIG Hazara and briefed him in detail about the performance and achievements of DRC Abbottabad. During the briefing, he highlighted the council role in resolving public disputes and promoting harmony through mutual understanding.
Presenting the annual performance report, Chairman DRC said in 2025 the council received 2,173 complaints, of which 1,994 cases were successfully resolved through mutual consent.
He added that 179 complaints were still under process due to legal complexities and ongoing discussions between the parties and would be resolved soon.
DIG Hazara appreciated the performance of the DRC and paid tribute to its office bearers and members for dedicating their time voluntarily to provide justice to the public without any personal gain.
He said the DRC played a vital role in resolving social disputes through community elders and members who help both parties reach a settlements.
The DIG further assured full support to all DRCs across Hazara Region and expressed his commitment to make these councils more active and effective to facilitate people for obtaining quick and free justice.
Later, the DIG Hazara inspected the under-construction DRC building and issued directions for the early completion of the project.
