Essential commodities' price stability, a district administration's top priority : DC Sahiwal

CHICHAWATNI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal, Samiullah Farooq on Monday said that maintaining stable prices of essential commodities and providing relief to the public were the top priorities of the district administration, in line with directives of the Punjab government.

He said the role of special price magistrates was crucial in achieving the objective, adding that a zero-tolerance policy was being enforced against profiteering, hoarding and overcharging.

He expressed these views while chairing a performance review meeting of special price magistrates from across the district at Montgomery Hall.

The deputy commissioner directed that the availability of food items at officially notified rates must be ensured at all costs, and strict, indiscriminate action should be taken against the violators.

He also stressed the need to ensure prominent display of price lists and said that consumers must be provided immediate relief in case of any complaints.
