Erosion control project underway

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi visited Gujjar Kotla to review progress on an ongoing development project aimed at protecting the area from water erosion.

According to official sources, XEN Irrigation Faisal briefed the deputy commissioner that four solid stone studs were being constructed at a cost of Rs 49 million to control the flow of Bhimber Nullah and protect nearby population and agricultural land from erosion.

The deputy commissioner inspected the pace and quality of construction work and directed the concerned officials to ensure timely completion of the project.

Officials informed the DC that work on the scheme was progressing rapidly and was expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.
