EPA seizes banned plastic bags in Daska

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) The Environmental Protection Agency Punjab carried out an operation on Pasrur Road in tehsil Daska and seized 255 kilograms of banned shopping bags during action against violations of environmental laws.

According to officials, a fine of Rs50,000 was imposed on those responsible for the use of single-use plastic (SUP) bags during the operation conducted by EPA Sialkot.

The department said the crackdown was part of ongoing efforts by the Punjab government to control environmental pollution and promote a plastic-free Punjab.

Citizens were urged to use environment-friendly bags and play their role in keeping Punjab clean and green.
