Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Tuesday visited the under-construction Danish school project in Bhimber district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of the construction work.
BHIMBER, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Tuesday visited the under-construction Danish school project in Bhimber district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of the construction work.
On this occasion, the federal minister said that the project reflected Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s special affection and commitment towards the education empowerment of people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “it is a moment of pride for us that the Danish school project is taking practical shape. This is the fulfillment of a dream and a promise to provide education opportunities to all.”
He said that the project represented Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of promoting quality and equal education for all segments of society.
Engineer Amir Muqam further said that the concept of Danish schools was first introduced by former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during his tenure as Chief Minister Punjab, with the aim of providing equal educational opportunities to children from underprivileged and backward communities.
The federal minister said that the government’s education policy was based on the principles of inclusivity and high-quality education, and that the Bhimber Danish School would emerge as a prominent center of academic excellence in the future.
According to officials of the Danish School System, the project is expected to be completed within the next three months.

He also praised the unparalleled services of the Pakistan armed forces for the country, particularly commending their courageous role in Marka-e-Haq. He said this historic success has significantly enhanced Pakistan’s prestige globally and earned the country respect and honor around the world.
After a briefing by Danish school project Director Haroon Das, former Senior Minister of the Azad Kashmir Government Chaudhry Tariq Farooq thanked the Federal Minister and appreciated the vision of Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders, former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Muhammed Shehbaz Sharif. He termed the project a welcome development but expressed concerns regarding possible flooding due to Bhimber Nullah and Kas Chanatar streams.
He said that a major flood in 1992 had severely affected Bhimber. The federal minister assured that public concerns would be addressed.
Earlier, upon arrival at the PWD Rest House, former Senior Minister and President of PML-N Azad Kashmir Shah Ghulam Qadir, Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, former Senior Minister Malik Muhammad Nawaz, former Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Rukhsar, and other party leaders welcomed the federal minister and discussed various matters with him.
During the minister’s visit, PML-N office-bearers and workers from Mirpur and Bhimber districts gave him a warm and enthusiastic reception.
