Engr Amir Muqam lauds services of late Taj Muhammad

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam here Sunday said that the late Shaheed Taj Muhammad Afridi was a capable political leader, a sincere party worker, a distinguished businessman, and a compassionate public figure who dedicated his entire life to public service, social welfare, and protection of the rights of the tribal people.

He was addressing a condolence reference held at a local hotel in Peshawar to pray for the departed soul of Taj Muhammad Afridi.

Engineer Amir Muqam said that Taj Muhammad Afridi always preferred to remain among the people. He described him as hardworking, God-fearing, compassionate toward the poor, and a man of integrity who considered helping those in need his duty.

Through his efforts, thousands of people found solutions to their problems, making him immensely popular and deeply respected by the public.

The Federal Minister added that over the past three years, he had developed a close relationship with the Al-Haj family. He said he had always found the family to be loyal, hardworking, and God-fearing, adding that they have consistently earned respect for their commitment to public service and principled stance.

He said that Taj Muhammad Afridi's passing was not only a loss for his family or the people of the former FATA, but a major setback for the political, social, and business communities of the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

He emphasized that the late leader's public, social, and political contributions would always be remembered.

Engineer Amir Muqam further stated that Taj Muhammad Afridi and his brother played a significant role in the merger of the former FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and worked tirelessly for the rights of the tribal people. He expressed hope that, God willing, the time would come when the full benefits of their struggle would reach the people.

Addressing the people of the former FATA, he assured them that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) is fully aware of their problems and will never abandon them. On behalf of himself and the party leadership, he pledged that they would continue to stand with the people of the tribal districts and work for their rights, development, prosperity, and lasting peace.

Member of the National Assembly Samar Haroon Bilour and Member of the Provincial Assembly Tariq Awan also addressed the condolence reference, paying tribute to the late Taj Muhammad Afridi's political, social, and welfare services. They said his contributions would always be remembered.

The ceremony was attended by Al-Haj Shah Ji Gul, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Rehmat Salam Khattak, Nawabzada Mohsin Ali, current and former members of the National and Provincial Assemblies, representatives of various political and social organizations, members of the business community, and a large number of Pakistan Muslim League (N) workers.

Participants offered prayers for the forgiveness of the deceased, the elevation of his rank in the hereafter, and patience and strength for his bereaved family.

The condolence reference was organized by PML-N workers Imran Khan, Malik Zarawar Khan, and Mir Wais Shinwari.
