Empowering women govt top priority: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jul, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that Punjab is not only ahead in governance and development today, but also in the role of women.

A passing-out parade of lady police officers was held in Lahore, that was inspected by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Punjab is the first province where women are playing their role in every department. She urged the lady cadets to play their role in the best possible way for the betterment and reform of the society.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that it is a joy to see girls riding scooties in Punjab, empowering women is the government's priority, today the crime rate in Punjab is at the lowest level.

Maryam Nawaz said that if a woman can become the Chief Minister and Chief Justice, she can also become the IG Police, adding women are proving their capabilities in every field.

She further said that by the grace of Allah Almighty, no power in the world can stop the development of Punjab, the success with which Punjab is running today is being given as an example everywhere.
