GILGIT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) The Election Commission Secretariat Gilgit-Baltistan has officially notified the Names of successful candidates elected to the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly in the General Elections 2026.
According to a notification issued by Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Shahbaz Khan (Tamgha-e-Shujaat), the declaration has been made under Section 98(1) of the Elections Act, 2017, and Rules 94 and 96 of the Election Rules, 2017, following the completion of all legal requirements and the compilation of official election results.
The notified members elected on general seats include: Amjad Hussain from GBA-1 Gilgit-I, Hafizur Rehman from GBA-2 Gilgit-II, Syed Sohail Abbas from GBA-3 Gilgit-III, Muhammad Ali Akhtar from GBA-4 Nagar-I, Zulfiqar Ali Murad from GBA-5 Nagar-II, Niek Nam Karim from GBA-6 Hunza, Syed Tauqeer Mehdi from GBA-7 Skardu-I, Muhammad Kazim from GBA-8 Skardu-II, Nasir Ali Khan from GBA-10 Skardu-IV, Iqbal Hassan from GBA-11 Kharmang, Imran Nadeem from GBA-12 Shigar, Rana Farman Ali from GBA-13 Astore-I, Rana Muhammad Farooq from GBA-14 Astore-II, Imam Malik from GBA-16 Diamer-II, Malik Kifayat-ur-Rehman from GBA-18 Diamer-IV, Syed Jalal Ali Shah from GBA-19 Ghizer-I, Abdul Jahan from GBA-20 Ghizer-II, Aman Ali from GBA-21 Ghizer-III, Muhammad Ibrahim Sanaie from GBA-22 Ghanche-I, Anwar Ali from GBA-23 Ghanche-II, and Dr.

The notification states that Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) secured the highest number of general seats in the assembly, while candidates belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), independent candidates, and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) also won representation in the legislature.
The Election Commission clarified that the notification has been issued on the basis of official election results and in accordance with all applicable legal provisions. With this announcement, the list of elected members on general seats has been formally published.
However, the Commission noted that notifications for only 21 members have been issued, while the results of three Constituencies have been withheld in compliance with the orders of the Supreme Appellate Court Gilgit-Baltistan.
