GILGIT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has officially issued the notification for the allocation of reserved seats for women and technocrats in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly following the General Elections 2026.
According to the notification issued by Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Shahbaz Khan the allocation of reserved seats has been completed in accordance with the priority lists submitted by political parties after the elections.
Of the six seats reserved for women, three were allocated to Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP). As a result, Kulsoom Jahangir, Sadia Danish, and Sobia Jabeen have been declared successful candidates.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured two reserved seats for women, which have been allocated to Sajida Begum and Jennifer Bahadur.
Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) obtained one reserved seat for women, and Dilshad Bano has been declared elected on that seat.

Under the notification, Muhammad Sharif has been declared successful on behalf of PPPP, Sahib Khan on behalf of PML-N, and Muhammad Ali on behalf of IPP.
According to the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan, the distribution of reserved seats was carried out in accordance with the representation secured by political parties in the assembly and the priority lists submitted under the relevant legal provisions.
With the issuance of the notification, the election of all candidates on the reserved seats for women and technocrats has formally come into effect, completing the composition of the reserved-seat members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.
