Elderly woman assault: suspect arrested

DG KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Police arrested a suspect after a video showing an elderly woman being assaulted circulated online.

The District Police Officer (DPO) took immediate notice and ordered the arrest, prompting Choti Police

Station to form a special team under the SHO's command, which swiftly detained the accused.

The DPO stated that violence against women, children, and the elderly would never be tolerated, and the suspect would face strict legal action. He reaffirmed, the Dera Ghazi Khan Police remains committed to protecting vulnerable citizens and that all those who take the law into their own hands will be dealt with firmly, without discrimination. He also assured that the victim will receive justice.
