Eid-ul-Fitr observed under tight security

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Mar, 2026) Like other parts of the country,Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were offered under strict security arrangements across the city on Saturday.

More than 2,000 police personnel were deployed outside mosques, imambargahs and open prayer grounds to ensure the safety of worshippers.

According to officials,12 special pickets were also set up at key points with over 250 officers assigned specifically for Eid prayer security.

To curb one-wheeling,over 100 personnel from Sargodha Police and Traffic Police were deployed across the city.

Meanwhile,50 traffic police officers were tasked with managing traffic to prevent congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement.

Security measures were extended to other public areas as well, with 150 officers deployed at parks and public places and around 100 stationed at important cemeteries.

District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf said personnel were equipped with metal detectors to conduct searches,while walk-through gates were installed at sensitive locations.

He added that strict patrolling had been ensured across all areas.

Officials said the arrangements were aimed at maintaining law and order during the religious occasion.
