Eid-ul-Adha traffic plan tightened in Islamabad with regulated parking and heavy police deployment: CTO

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad SSP Muhammad Sarfraz Virk Friday called for strict adherence to traffic guidelines ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, highlighting regulated parking zones around cattle markets and the deployment of more than 350 police personnel on round-the-clock duty to ensure smooth traffic flow and public facilitation across the capital.

While speaking to a local media outlet, he urged citizens to strictly cooperate with traffic authorities and follow all issued guidelines in letter and spirit to ensure smooth traffic flow during Eid-ul-Adha.

He emphasized that designated parking areas, especially around cattle markets, must be used only by genuine buyers to prevent congestion and inconvenience for other road users.

He further said that traffic police personnel will remain on duty round the clock across key locations to manage pressure points and facilitate citizens throughout the festive period.

He also appealed to the public to support the efforts of law enforcement staff by adhering to instructions on the ground, stressing that public cooperation is essential for effective traffic management.

He also noted that digital monitoring systems will be actively used during Eid to track traffic flow in real time, identify congestion points and support quick response measures, ensuring better coordination between field staff and control rooms for efficient traffic management.

CTO concluded by advising citizens to plan their Eid travel responsibly, avoid unnecessary road congestion and extend full cooperation to traffic authorities so that smooth movement, public safety, and a hassle-free festive experience can be ensured for everyone.
