Education, tree plantation initiatives reviewed in Torghar

TORGHAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Lower Kohistan Anwar Zeb Khan chaired separate meetings to review educational uplift and tree plantation initiatives, emphasizing timely implementation of reforms to improve education standards and promote environmental protection in the district.

Presiding over a meeting of the Education Uplifting Forum, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed review of teachers’ attendance, students’ performance, availability of facilities in schools, and overall academic discipline. He directed the relevant officers to implement proposed measures effectively and without delay to enhance the quality of education and ensure better learning facilities for students across the district.

In another meeting held with officials of the Forest and Watershed Department, matters related to the ongoing tree plantation campaign were discussed, including the availability of saplings, identification of suitable sites, and strategies to make the campaign successful.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned departments to complete all plantation activities in a timely and efficient manner.

Meanwhile, a plantation drive was also carried out in the district, where the Deputy Commissioner formally inaugurated the campaign by planting a sapling and later distributed plants among local residents.

Speaking on the occasion, Anwar Zeb Khan said protecting the environment and making the district green is a collective responsibility.

He added that tree plantation not only benefits the environment but also ensures a better quality of life for future generations, urging the public to actively participate in the campaign.
