Dy Director food inspects quality, quantity, prices of essential food commodities.

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Mar, 2026) Deputy Director Food Shaheed Benazirabad, Naveed Abbas Zardari, accompanied by officers of the Bureau of Supply, conducted a surprise visit to shops and warehouses dealing in cooking oil and various food items in Nawabshah.

During the inspection, Deputy Director checked the quality, quantity, and prices of essential food commodities. The inspection team found adulteration in loose cooking oil, Ajinomoto, and several other edible items.

Non-standard and hazardous food products were confiscated on the spot. Heavy fines were imposed on the concerned shopkeepers and suppliers. Strict warnings were also issued to those found violating food safety regulations.

Naveed Abbas said that adulteration during the holy month of Ramazan would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He emphasized that there would be no compromise on public health and safety.

A clear message was conveyed to those involved in adulteration to immediately rectify their practices, otherwise stricter legal action would be taken against them. The Food Control Authority’s campaign to ensure the provision of quality and safe food to public would continue. Citizens have been urged to promptly report any complaints of adulteration to the relevant authorities.
