DWPC reviews performance of Women Protection Center

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The District Women Protection Committee (DWPC) Faisalabad held a meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner General Fazal Abbas and reviewed the performance of Women Protection Center for strengthening interdepartmental coordination to protect female community against all kinds of violence.

District Women Protection Officer Kanwal Shehzadi briefed the participants about operational performance of the center and presented monitoring framework.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Fazal Abbas emphasized the need for seamless coordination among all relevant departments to ensure effective protection of women.

He also assigned responsibilities to ensure deployment of Women Medical Officers and psychologists at Women Protection Center, establishment of a dedicated police front desk and expansion of public awareness campaigns against violence targeting women.

These measures would provide timely support, promote safety, and enhance accessibility of legal and psychological services for women across the district, he added.

Deputy Director Social Welfare Amna Alam, representatives from CPO office, Health Authority, Local Government and the District Public Prosecutor were also present in the meeting.
