Driver killed,brother injured as truck overturns

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) A truck driver lost his life while his brother sustained critical injuries after a Mazda truck carrying lemons overturned on the M-5 Motorway due to alleged over-speeding on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122,the truck was traveling on the motorway when the driver applied the brakes suddenly near Pole No. 733, causing the vehicle to skid out of control,overturn and plunge off the motorway.

Rescue teams reached the spot after being alerted by eyewitnesses and retrieved the trapped victims by cutting through the truck's mangled body.

The deceased was identified as Asmatullah(26),who suffered fatal head injuries.

while his brother,Asadullah(26) sustained multiple fractures and was shifted to Nishtar Hospital-II in critical condition.

After completing legal formalities, Rescue 1122, with the assistance of FWO personnel,transported both victims to the hospital at the request of the Motorway Police.

Traffic on the motorway was restored after authorities cleared the wreckage and completed the necessary procedures.

Initial investigations suggested that over-speeding was the Primary cause of the accident.

Police concerned have launched further legal proceedings into the incident.
