FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) The District Quality Control board (DQCB) heard the stance of accused in 47 departmental cases initiated against medical stores and clinics being run by unqualified individuals and decided to refer 28 cases to Drug Court over failure to present valid justification.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Madam Zainab Jahandad presided over the DQCB meeting and reviewed the cases.
She issued warnings in 16 cases, deferred two cases due to incomplete records and announced to register FIR against one medical store owner over a serious violation.
She also examined each case individually and directed strict compliance with drug laws to ensure public safety.
Addressing the meeting, she said that drug inspectors must fully realize their responsibilities to eliminate the heinous business of spurious and substandard medicines in Faisalabad district.
No leniency should be shown to those playing with human health under the guise of medical treatment, she added.
She directed the concerned officers to intensify inspections of medical stores and clinics and allow only qualified professionals to run healthcare facilities in accordance with the law.
Secretary Quality Control Board Rubina Akhtar, committee members and drug inspectors were also present in the meeting.
