DPO Tank reviews Muharram security arrangements across key sites

TANK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Tank Abdul Samad Khan conducted a comprehensive review of security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, visiting key religious sites, procession routes, police facilities, and the central control room to assess preparedness and ensure effective coordination.

During the visit, the DPO inspected Imambargah Ghazi Abbas and Imambargah Hazrat Hussain in Sector No. 3, Runwal. He reviewed security measures, deployment of personnel, alertness levels, electricity supply, sanitation, accommodation facilities, and other logistical arrangements. He directed officers and personnel on duty to remain vigilant at all times and perform their responsibilities with utmost dedication and professionalism.

Later, Abdul Samad Khan visited the Police Lines, where he inspected the quality of food being prepared for personnel, cleanliness standards, and overall welfare arrangements. He instructed relevant officials to maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure the provision of quality meals.

The DPO also met with additional police personnel deployed for Muharram duties and reviewed their accommodation, food, and other facilities, issuing necessary directives for their welfare and operational readiness.

The DPO subsequently attended the central mourning procession in Runwal, where he personally examined security deployment, entry and exit points, anti-drone measures, and other security protocols. He emphasized the importance of maintaining maximum alertness throughout the observance of Muharram.

At the end, DPO Abdul Samad Khan inspected the Central Muharram Control Room, reviewing monitoring systems, communication mechanisms, and overall operational arrangements. He directed officials to utilize all available resources to ensure the protection of citizens' lives and property and to maintain peace and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
