DPO suspends four cops over negligence, misuse of authority

KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid has taken strict action against negligence, misconduct, and corruption within the district police, reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy.

According to official sources, Sub-Inspector Mehmood Iqbal, Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Kahna, has been suspended and ordered to report “close to line” over charges of negligence and misuse of authority.

In a separate action, Head Constable Abdul Malik, serving as Moharrar at Police Station City Mian Channu, has also been suspended and directed to close to line. Additionally, Constables Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Sajid, posted at the same police station, have been suspended under similar charges.

DPO Muhammad Abid emphasized that strict accountability will be ensured at all levels, and no leniency will be shown towards officials involved in negligence, corruption, or abuse of power. He reiterated that the zero-tolerance policy will continue to be enforced to maintain transparency, discipline, and public trust in the police department.

Officials further stated that such actions are part of ongoing efforts to improve performance standards and ensure justice is delivered without compromise.
