DPO reviews security for Muharram procession routes

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Akhtar Farooq visited the procession routes of Moinuddinpur and Dilanwala in connection with Muharram-ul-Haram arrangements to review security measures.

According to the official source, the DPO inspected entry and exit points of the processions, sensitive locations, deployment of police personnel, and search and sweep operations as part of the overall security plan. He was also briefed by concerned police officers regarding security arrangements.

The DPO directed that all available resources be utilized to maintain law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram and warned that negligence or carelessness in procession security would not be tolerated.

He emphasized the need for continuous monitoring, effective checking, and coordinated efforts along procession routes to ensure a peaceful environment for mourners.

He reaffirmed that Gujrat Police would remain on high alert throughout Muharram and continue all possible measures to protect lives and property and maintain peace in the district.
