DPO reviews Muharram security arrangements in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat, Akhtar Farooq, visited various imambargahs and procession routes across the district to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

According to police sources, he inspected Imambargah Hussainia in Main Bazaar Gujrat, an imambargah on Railway Road in Lalamusa, and procession routes in the areas of Sadr Kharian, Dinga and Mangowal.

During the visit, the DPO reviewed security measures, traffic management plans, entry and exit points and other arrangements for Muharram processions and majalis.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure foolproof security for mourners and maintain effective coordination among all relevant departments.

Akhtar Farooq said maintaining peace and law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram was the top priority of Punjab Police. He added that all processions and majalis would be closely monitored and all available resources would be utilized to ensure the safety and security of mourners.
