DPO directs police to strengthen night patrols, ensure vigilance at check posts

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO), Shehbaz Elahi on Thursday directed police officials to further strengthen night patrols and maintain strict vigilance at check posts to prevent criminal activities and ensure public safety in the district.

During surprise visits to various check posts and security points across the city and suburban areas late at night, the DPO inspected attendance, performance and alertness of police personnel on duty.

He instructed the officials to discharge their duties with a strong sense of responsibility and remain vigilant against any suspicious persons or vehicles.

He emphasized that effective monitoring at checkpoints and regular patrolling were essential for maintaining law and order.

Shehbaz Elahi said that protection of citizens’ lives and property was the top priority of Kohat police and no negligence would be tolerated in security duties.

The DPO also assured police personnel that their welfare and operational challenges were being addressed and all possible steps would be taken to facilitate them in the line of duty.

Separately, he urged community elders to promote sectarian harmony and mutual understanding to maintain lasting peace in the district.
