DPO Abbottabad takes immediate notice of social media complaint, entire staff of Baryan check post suspended

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad, Haroon Rasheed Khan, took immediate notice of a complaint received through social media and ordered the suspension and line closure of all personnel posted at Baryan Check Post.

According to reports circulating on social media, police personnel at Baryan Check Post a place between Punjab and KPK were accused of stopping a tourist vehicle and allegedly harassing the passengers without justification.

Taking swift action on the complaint, the DPO Abbottabad suspended the entire staff of the check post and ordered immediate line closure.

He also directed the SP Headquarters to conduct a full inquiry into the incident and take strict departmental action against those found responsible.

DPO Haroon Rasheed Khan stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is taking all possible measures to ensure the safety, respect, and facilitation of tourists. He said tourists are guests, and any inappropriate behavior with them will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He further emphasized that polite conduct, professionalism within the law, and providing excellent public service are the top responsibilities of all police personnel.
