Domestic worker arrested for stealing 16-tola gold jewellery

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) Police arrested a female domestic worker for allegedly stealing 16-tola gold jewellery worth Rs8.5 million from a house in Abdullahpur and recovered the stolen valuables.

According to police, the accused, identified as Muqaddas Bibi, was employed as a domestic helper at the residence of Asima Shehzadi.

She allegedly stole the gold jewellery from a safe kept inside a cupboard when the family members were away and fled the scene.

After registration of a case, SHO Mansoorabad Police Station Tauqeer Akhtar launched an investigation and traced the accused with the help of modern technology and other investigative techniques.

Police said that on the identification of the accused, the stolen jewellery, valued at around Rs8.5 million, was recovered from her residence in Kararwala.

Further investigation into the case was underway.
