District administration of Shaheed Benazirabad continued its actions against profiteers for the sixth consecutive day during the holy month of Ramazan to provide relief to general public, imposing fines on violators
NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) District administration of Shaheed Benazirabad continued its actions against profiteers for the sixth consecutive day during the holy month of Ramazan to provide relief to general public, imposing fines on violators. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani, Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars conducted visits to various markets within their territorial jurisdictions across all four talukas of district on the sixth day of Ramazan.
Revenue officers, accompanied by staff from .Bureau of Supply, carried out inspections and imposed a total fine of Rs 33,500 on 41 profiteers across the four talukas. Shops and pushcarts selling meat, fruits, vegetables, grocery items, and other essential commodities were inspected throughout the district.
Price lists were checked, and action was taken against those charging rates higher than the officially notified prices.
In Taluka Nawabshah, fines amounting to Rs 16,500 were imposed on 17 shopkeepers for overcharging. In Sakrand, 10 profiteers were fined Rs 4,000. In Daur, 12 shopkeepers were fined Rs 10,000, while in Qazi Ahmed, 7 profiteers were fined Rs 5,000.
Similarly, on the sixth of Ramazan, revenue officers had also inspected more than 111 shops and pushcarts across the four talukas, particularly those selling fruits and vegetables.
Under the directives of Deputy Commissioner, daily operations are continuing to ensure maximum relief for public. Revenue officials have made it clear that implementation of officially notified price lists will be strictly enforced, and strict action would be taken against violators.
