NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Actions against profiteers continued on the seventh consecutive day of Ramazan across all four talukas of the district including Nawabshah, Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed, and Daur.
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, the Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars conducted inspections within their respective jurisdictions, targeting various markets, vegetable and fruit shops, grocery stores, and pushcart vendors.
Revenue officers visited shops dealing in meat, vegetables, fruits, groceries, and other essential food items to check official price lists and ensure compliance. Fines were imposed on those found charging prices above the government-approved rates.
During operations, a total of 35 profiteers were fined an aggregate amount of Rs44,000.
According to details, in Taluka Nawabshah, 21 shopkeepers were fined Rs34,000; in Sakrand, three profiteers were fined Rs2,000; in Daur, six shopkeepers were fined Rs5,000; and in Qazi Ahmed, five profiteers were fined Rs3,000.
On the seventh day of Ramazan, revenue officers inspected more than 128 shops and pushcart vendors across the four talukas. Several shopkeepers were instructed to prominently display official price lists and were issued warnings.
Revenue officials said that, in line with Deputy Commissioner’s directives, daily operations would continue throughout Ramazan to provide relief to public, and artificial price hikes would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
