Distt admin accelerates Muharram processions' route clearance work

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) The district administration has stepped up efforts to ensure safe and uninterrupted Muharram-ul-Haram processions by carrying out improvement and clearance work along key procession routes across the city.

Assistant Commissioner Dera Dr Muhammad Hamid Siddiq, accompanied by representatives of the Communication and Works (C&W) Department, NESPAK, and the concerned contractor, visited the Old Vegetable Market area to inspect ongoing road rehabilitation and route clearance activities.

During the visit, he reviewed road leveling, restoration, and clearance work aimed at facilitating the smooth passage of Muharram processions and eliminating any potential obstacles along the route.

Expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, Dr Siddiq commended the C&W Department, NESPAK, contractors, and other relevant agencies for their timely efforts in completing road leveling and clearance measures within a short period.

He also inspected procession routes in Commissionary Bazaar, where he reviewed progress on ongoing development and maintenance work. The Assistant Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to ensure the completion of all remaining tasks within the stipulated time-frame.

Dr Siddiq emphasized that all arrangements should be finalized in a timely and professional manner to provide mourners with a safe, convenient, and secure environment during Muharram-ul-Haram.
