District coordination committee reviews Ramazan relief measures in Quetta

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) In line with the directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, a meeting of the District Coordination Committee was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini to review the implementation of Ramazan relief measures.

The meeting, attended by officers from all relevant departments, focused on ensuring maximum relief for the public during the holy month of Ramazan. Participants conducted a detailed review of government instructions and ongoing initiatives across the district.

District officials briefed the committee on steps taken to control prices, ensure the availability of essential commodities, and enforce official price lists in markets. The deputy commissioner directed authorities to intensify action against profiteering, hoarding, and artificial price hikes, stressing that strict market monitoring must continue throughout Ramadan to protect consumers.

Special attention was given to ensuring transparent and fair distribution of ration among deserving families.

Officials were instructed to re-verify beneficiary lists so that assistance reaches only those who genuinely qualify. The committee agreed to prioritize widows, orphans, persons with disabilities, and low-income families in the relief efforts.

With increased crowds expected in markets, particularly at Iftar time, traffic management strategies were also discussed. The traffic police were directed to perform special duties on major roads and busy marketplaces to maintain smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience for residents.

A comprehensive review of departmental performance was conducted, and a report was compiled. Deputy Commissioner Badini instructed all officers to enhance inter-departmental coordination, promptly identify field-level issues, and ensure timely resolution.

The meeting concluded with the finalization of a coordinated action plan, accompanied by directives to ensure that government relief measures during Ramazan are implemented effectively and deliver tangible benefits to the public.
