District Administration, police stepped up preparations for Muharram -ul-Haram to ensure peace

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) The district administration and police have stepped up preparations for Muharram-ul-Harram to ensure peace, security, and facilitation for mourners across the district.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaheed Benazirabad, Sameer Noor Channa, and Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani, conducted a joint visit to various areas, including the jurisdictions of Bandhi and Daur police stations.

The officials inspected Imambargahs and inspected arrangements for mourning processions. During visit, SSP thoroughly examined security measures, including deployment of personnel at entry and exit points, functioning of CCTV cameras, and the installation of walkthrough gates. He directed police officials to maintain strict vigilance, ensure no compromise on security, and enhance patrolling and snap checking during Majalis and processions. He also emphasized close monitoring of suspicious individuals and unattended items.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner met with caretakers of Imambargahs and members of peace committees to discuss and address their concerns. He instructed municipal and district officials to ensure proper cleanliness around Imambargahs and procession routes, repair roads, restore street lighting, and provide clean drinking water.

He also directed arrangements for generators to counter load-shedding and facilitate mourners. Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining inter-sect harmony and law and order during Muharram. They said district administration and police were on high alert around the clock and all available resources were being utilized to prevent any untoward incidents. Organizers of Imambargahs expressed satisfaction over the proactive measures and assured full cooperation with the authorities.
