District administration imposes section 144 to curb one-wheeling, public hazards during Ramadan, Eid

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) The District Administration has imposed a ban on several high-risk activities including one-wheeling, the operation of sports vehicles with heavy or double silencers, and the use of heavy bikes under Section 144.

According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Saullah Khan, the order takes effect immediately and will remain in force for next thirty days.

Beyond road safety, Administration has prohibited bathing or swimming in rivers and dams, and have placed strict limits on boat overloading and operation of unsafe rides in amusement parks.

Additionally, common traffic violations such as speeding and riding motorcycles without helmets are strictly forbidden during this period to prevent accidents during the festive season of Eidul fitr.

Administration has called upon general public to cooperate with these measures to ensure maintenance of law and order. The policy will be strictly enforced, and any individuals found flouting the order will face legal consequences under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), the notification said.
