District administration accelerates crackdown against profiteers in Shaheed Benazirabad

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) District administration has continued its crackdown against profiteers and imposed fines amounting to Rs 119,000 on the second day of Ramazan.

In Nawabshah, acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, the revenue officers' teams carried out inspections across all talukas of the district. The revenue officers visited shops selling meat, fruits, vegetables, grocery items and other essential commodities to check official price lists and took legal action against those charging excessive rates.

Assistant Commissioner Nawabshah Iqbal Ahmed Tunio imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on a meat seller for overcharging customers, while Assistant Commissioner Daur Muhammad Zakir fined fruit and grocery vendors Rs 15,000.

Similarly, revenue officers in Sakrand and Qazi Ahmed imposed fines of Rs2,000 each during separate inspections.

According to the Deputy Commissioner’s directives, daily operations will continue throughout Ramazan to ensure relief for public and strict compliance with officially notified prices.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner, meat inspectors and veterinary officers also visited various meat shops and fish markets to examine the quality and prices of meat, ensuring the provision of hygienic and quality food items to citizens.
