District admin vows continued support for sports activities

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) The closing ceremony of the Annual Sports Tournament 2025–26 for District Peshawar was held at Government Shaheed Osama Tahir Awan High school, Nankpura, where trophies and sports kits were distributed among students.

Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan, attended the event as chief guest. District Education Officer (Male) Irfan Ali Khan, Deputy District Education Officer Irshad Khan, along with principals, headmasters, students, and other guests were also present.

The chief guest awarded prizes to outstanding students and highlighted the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork, and positive thinking among youth. He said the district administration is taking steps to promote sports alongside education to engage youth in healthy activities.

He added that such events help showcase students’ talents and provide opportunities for future growth. The ceremony concluded with appreciation for students’ performances and a commitment to continue organizing such activities.
