District admin launches spring plantation campaign

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) In light of the orders of the provincial government, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Captain (Retd) Sanaullah Khan

planted a sapling at Shalimar Garden in connection with the spring plantation campaign here on Friday.

Besides, officials of the district administration, District Forest Officer Muhammad Shakeel, Sub-Divisional Forest

Officer Abdul Sattar, along with officers of the Forest Department and students, the general public were present,

who actively participated in the plantation campaign.

Highlighting the importance of tree plantation, the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar said that collective efforts are

essential to make Peshawar green.

He said that during the spring tree plantation campaign, more than three hundred thousand trees will be planted across Peshawar to help eliminate environmental pollution and make the city more beautiful.

He added that trees not only play a key role in environmental improvement but also help reduce pollution, provide oxygen and balance temperatures.

The Deputy Commissioner Peshawar also spoke to students and locals and informed them about the importance of tree plantation and environmental protection.

He said that the younger generation should actively participate in this campaign as it is an important step for the betterment of our future. “We all have to pledge not only to plant more trees but also to ensure their protection

so that they can grow and make our city green and beautiful,” he stressed.

Deputy Commissioner Peshawar also encouraged the local people to participate fully in the tree plantation drive and urged them to promote the tradition of planting trees in homes, offices and streets.

He said that the success of any environmental campaign is not possible without public participation and it is necessary to demonstrate collective responsibility so that a better and healthier environment can be provided to the coming generations.
