District admin issues notification for establishment of cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The district administration has issued a notification for the establishment of six designated cattle markets across the district in collaboration with the Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) and the Cantonment board to ensure organized buying and selling of sacrificial animals on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

According to the notification, special instructions have been issued to TMAs, police, the livestock department, traffic police, and rescue services to ensure cleanliness, security, traffic management, and other necessary arrangements at the cattle markets, so that citizens could be provided with better facilities.

The district administration has urged the public to carry out the purchase and sale of sacrificial animals only at designated cattle markets and avoid doing so on roads, markets, or other unauthorized places.

It warned that legal action would be taken against those found violating these instructions.

The designated cattle markets included Cantonment Board Suzuki Stand, Qalandarabad near Motorway Interchange, and Dumtoor Bypass in Tehsil Abbottabad; cattle markets in Havelian and Sajikot in Tehsil Havelian; and Rahi Market Lora Bazaar in Tehsil Lora.

The administration stated that these measures aimed to ensure a well-organized, safe, and facilitative environment for citizens while maintaining smooth traffic flow and sanitation arrangements during Eid-ul-Adha.
