Dist admin enforces Section 144 ahead of Eidul Azha

LOWER DIR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The district administration here on Tuesday imposed Section 144 across the district ahead of Eidul Azha as part of security measures to maintain peace and prevent illegal activities during the religious festival.

Under the restrictions, individuals, religious seminaries, welfare organizations and groups will not be allowed to collect sacrificial animal hides without obtaining prior permission from the district administration.

Authorities warned that forcible collection of hides would invite strict legal action.

The administration has also banned the setting up of camps, stalls and promotional material related to hide collection without official approval.

Use of loudspeakers for related announcements, public display of weapons and gathering of armed persons during Eid days have also been prohibited.

The notification said the restrictions were imposed to avoid disputes, maintain public order and ensure a peaceful environment during Eidul Azha celebrations.

The district administration urged citizens to cooperate with authorities and report any violation of the directives.
