DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) The staff of Waterfowl Wildlife Range, under the supervision of Range Officer Asmatullah Khan, along with officials of Paharpur Wildlife Sub-Division led by Sub-Divisional Wildlife Officer (SDWO) Faizan, conducted a successful search and strike operation against illegal poachers in the Indus Game Reserve.
During the operation, several individuals involved in illegal hunting were apprehended and booked under the relevant provisions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife and Biodiversity Act, 2015. The wildlife team also recovered Rs95,000 as compensation from the violators in accordance with the law.
Officials said the crackdown was part of ongoing efforts to curb poaching and ensure strict enforcement of wildlife protection laws in the region.
They reiterated that no one would be allowed to exploit natural habitats or endanger protected species.
The officers appreciated the performance of the field staff and commended the brave and dedicated personnel of the DIKhan Wildlife Division for their commitment to safeguarding valuable wildlife resources.
They reaffirmed their resolve to continue operations against illegal hunting to preserve biodiversity and maintain ecological balance in the area.
