DIKhan admin itensifies price monitoring during Ramazan

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) Acting on the directives of the provincial government, the district administration on Saturday supervised the auction process of vegetables, fruits and other agricultural commodities at Ratta Kulachi Stadium Vegetable Market to ensure transparency and price control during the holy month of Ramazan.

Assistant Commissioner Ehsanullah, accompanied by District food Controller (DFC) Aman Khan, Naib Tehsildar Daraban Nasir Ahmed and officials of the Agriculture Department, monitored the early morning bidding process.

During the auction, the bidding mechanism was reviewed to ensure transparency, while on-the-spot price fixation was carried out in line with Ramazan price control measures. An official rate list was subsequently issued to regulate retail prices in the market during the holy month of Ramazan.

The officials directed commission agents, traders and shopkeepers to strictly adhere to the government-notified rates and supply quality vegetables and fruits to the public during Ramazan.

They warned that strict legal action would be taken against violators involved in overcharging or profiteering.

The administration also inspected the overall sanitation arrangements in the market and instructed the relevant staff to further improve cleanliness and ensure timely disposal of waste, particularly during peak Ramazan hours. In view of increased activity and rush during the holy month of Ramazan, practical measures were taken to streamline traffic flow and facilitate the smooth movement of buyers and traders.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to providing relief to the public, maintaining order in markets, controlling prices and curbing profiteering during the holy month of Ramazan.
