Makkah Mukrramah, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) In a landmark move to ensure the highest standards of service for pilgrims, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, in collaboration with the National Information Technology board (NITB), has activated the first-ever 'Khuddam Monitoring and Performance System' (KMPC).

This digital initiative is designed to oversee 1,378 Khuddam-ul-Hujjaj (Hajj assistants) deployed to guide and assist 119,000 Pakistani pilgrims during the current Hajj season.

Briefing the media in Makkah, KMPC Coordinator and Ministry Joint Secretary Ahmed Nadeem Khan, revealed that a daily digital scorecard will be maintained for every staff member under this modern framework.

The system ensures high levels of accountability; staff found neglecting their duties will initially face warnings and fines, while persistent violations or serious misconduct will result in immediate deportation back to Pakistan.

The digital monitoring framework relies on several strictly enforced Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including real-time attendance, presence at designated duty points, and general discipline.

Furthermore, it is now mandatory for all assistants to wear official jackets and carry their 'Nusuk Cards' at all times while on duty.

To ensure transparency, QR codes are being displayed at residential buildings and transport pick-and-drop points, allowing pilgrims to personally rate staff behavior and efficiency on a scale of one to five stars.

These ratings, combined with operational metrics, will contribute to a total performance score out of 100 points, with high achievers receiving official commendation certificates. Ahmed Nadeem Khan emphasized that this year’s staff was selected through a transparent National Testing Service (NTS) process, with teams working shifts of 12 to 24 hours. He also noted a significant increase in the number of female staff this year and expressed satisfaction that no reports of harassment or major grievances have been received to date.
