PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) A state-of-the-art multipurpose digital centre was inaugurated here on Friday at the business Incubation Center to promote women’s economic empowerment and enhance digital skills under the project Digitalization for Women Economic Empowerment (D4WEE).
The initiative is being implemented with financial support from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner reaffirmed the commitment to empowering women through access to modern technology and skills development.
He appreciated KOICA for providing advanced digital equipment and facilities and assured full support from the district government and local administration for the successful implementation of the project.
He also offered his personal cooperation to ensure that the benefits of the initiative reach a maximum number of women.
The ceremony was attended by KOICA Country Head Eun Kyung Kang, Naim Qazi, Hasan representing TiE Pakistan, Muhammad Iftikhar from Akhtar Hameed Khan Foundation, along with a large number of students and teachers.
The event was held under the theme “Empower Her”, under which 3,000 women and female students across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will receive digital skills training to help them become economically self-reliant and access improved employment opportunities.
Participants termed the initiative a significant milestone toward women’s education, skills development, and economic growth. Later, the commissioner formally inaugurated the centre by cutting the ribbon.
