DIG inspects security arrangements for Muharram

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kohat Region, Irfan Tariq and District Police Officer (DPO) Shahbaz Elahi inspected security of procession routes being designated for seventh day processions and met with police personnel.

DPO Shahbaz Elahi briefed DIG Irfan Tariq on the comprehensive measures taken for Muharram including deployment of personnel, monitoring of entry and exit points, route security and checking systems.

DIG also met with procession organizers to discuss facilities provided to mourners and the overall security plan. He interacted with police personnel on duty, commending their professional services and instructing them to remain vigilant and disciplined.

Later, DIG and DPO inspected Command and Control Room where live monitoring of the procession was conducted through CCTV cameras and modern surveillance systems.

DIG emphasized that maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of mourners during Muharram is the foremost priority of the police. He praised Kohat Police for effective arrangements and reiterated that all available resources are being utilized to prevent any untoward incident.
